Maxi Scooters Our larger scooters are called class 3 and are capable and legal of travelling on the road. These have a maximum speed of 8MPH and come complete with lights and indicators. Road going scooters are those which have a speed capable of greater than 4MPH. They normally have a switch to change the speed range from 0-4 mph to 4-8 mph. These scooters now have to be registered with the DVLA (Form V55/4) and display a tax disc although you are exempt from having to pay a Road Fund Licence.
