The Padded Lap Belt helps to maintain the occupants position at the back of the seat especially if the built in 5 point harness may be be adequate to secure them.
The pushchair seat has slots at the sides which the Padded Lap Belt fits through goes around the back of the seat to clip securely together.
The alternative Pelvic Strap is clipped together at the front whereas the Padded Lap Belt is clipped together behind the seat which makes it a bit more fiddly to fit but is much more secure. The padded section makes it more comfortable for the child even when the belt is fitted snuggly or if they move against it.
If fitted in reverse with the padded section at the back of the seat and the clip at the front then it would operate as a normal Pelvic Strap.
IMPORTANT. The Padded Lap Belt is designed to supplement the built in 5 point harness it DOES NOT replace the 5 point harness which should be used at all times to secure the occupant.
